OUR VISION

  • Supporting Orphans and Vulnerable Children: Childero focuses on children in and around Gulu, Northern Uganda, many of whom have been deeply affected by loss, displacement, and the long-term effects of unrest. By offering financial sponsorship and mentorship, the organization helps ensure that children have access to education, basic necessities, and nurturing care.
  • Healing a War-Affected Community: Northern Uganda endured decades of conflict, during which thousands of children were abducted, displaced, or left without parental care. Although peace has improved, the legacy of trauma and economic hardship continues to affect families and communities. Programs like Childero’s help break cycles of poverty and neglect by investing directly in children’s growth and well-being.
  • Empowering Through Relationships: Beyond material assistance, Childero emphasizes mentorship and discipleship in the Global Methodist Church, fostering resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging. This relational approach helps children build social and emotional strength — a critical foundation for long-term success.

About the Global Methodist Church

Global Methodist churches in northern Uganda are standing in the middle of deep poverty, lingering trauma, and growing tension. In some communities, pastors and congregations who align with the GMC face intimidation, division, and real risk, often without protection or outside support.

These churches are not just places of worship — they are often the only source of stability, hope, and moral leadership in vulnerable villages. Without help, faithful leaders can be isolated and at risk. With support, they can bring peace instead of conflict, unity instead of fear, and hope instead of despair.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life.” — James 1:12

“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.” — Revelation 2:10
